Performing a new installation
Note: This method also applies to RSFirewall! updates. If you wish to update to a newer version just follow the step described below. The installation/update file can be downloaded by logging in to your rsjoomla.com account, under the "View my downloads" section.
Below we will provide step by step instructions on how to install RSFirewall.
  1. Login into the backend
    Login into the Joomla! backend
  2. On the top menu, select Extensions > Install/Uninstall
    select Extensions > Install/Uninstall
  3. Click Browse and select the zip file you downloaded. Click on Upload File & Install
    Click on Upload File & Install
  4. If installation was successful, you should see this message
    5. New RSFirewall Installation
  5. You can now access RSFirewall! through the Components menu
    6. RSFirewall Joomla Component
If the installation produces any errors, check if:
  1. The archive you were trying to upload is not corrupted
  2. The archive is being correctly uploaded to your webserver
  3. The following folder permissions are correctly set: 755 for /components, 755 for administrator/components and 755 for /media
